Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 26, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how IMZ Blogs (“we”, “us” or “our”) collects, uses and shares information when you visit imzblogs.com (the “Website”), and the choices and rights you have. Our readers are mainly located in the United States, the United Kingdom and other countries, and this policy is written to meet the privacy laws that apply to them, including U.S. state privacy laws, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the UK GDPR.

Information We Collect

Information you give us

  • Contact form: your name, email address, subject and message, and your IP address (to protect the form against spam and abuse).
  • Newsletter: your email address, the date you subscribed and confirmed, and your IP address (see Newsletter below).

Information collected automatically

When you visit the Website, we and our partners may automatically collect information such as your IP address, approximate location (derived from your IP address), browser type, device type, operating system, referring pages, the pages you view and the date and time of your visit. This is collected through cookies and similar technologies described below.

We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information (such as health, financial account, precise location, racial or religious information).

Website statistics (no cookies)

To understand which articles are useful, we count page views, approximate reading time and how far a page is scrolled. This first-party statistics tool does not use cookies or store anything on your device. A visitor is counted through an anonymous code created from the IP address and browser, combined with a secret key that changes every day, so the same visitor cannot be recognized on another day and the IP address itself is not stored. Statistics are deleted after about 13 months. Automated traffic (bots) is not counted. We use this only for aggregated reports based on our legitimate interest in improving the Website.

Cookies and Similar Technologies

Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your web browser. We use:

  • Strictly necessary cookies and storage: needed for the Website to work, for example to protect the contact form against spam and to remember your cookie choice.
  • Analytics cookies: help us understand how visitors use the Website (see Google Analytics below).
  • Advertising cookies: used by Google and its partners to show ads, limit how often you see an ad and measure ad performance (see Google AdSense below).

Visitors in the UK, the European Economic Area and Switzerland are asked for consent before analytics and advertising cookies are used. Visitors in other regions, including the United States, can opt out at any time. You can change your choice whenever you like with the “Cookie Settings” link in the footer of every page, and you can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google LLC, to understand how visitors find and use the Website, such as which pages are visited and how long visitors stay. We use this information only to improve the Website. You can prevent Google Analytics from collecting your data by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. Learn more in the Google Privacy Policy.

Google AdSense and Advertising

We use Google AdSense to display advertisements on the Website. Google is a third-party vendor and uses cookies to serve ads on our site.

  • Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites.
  • Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to our users based on their visit to our site and/or other sites on the Internet.
  • Other third-party vendors or ad networks may also use cookies to serve ads on our site.

Learn more at How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services and Google Advertising.

How to opt out of personalized advertising

If you opt out, you will still see ads, but they will not be personalized based on your interests.

Newsletter

If you subscribe to our newsletter, we use a double opt-in process: you only start receiving emails after you click the confirmation link we send you. We use your email address only to send you our new articles, and we never sell it. Every email contains an unsubscribe link that works immediately, in line with the U.S. CAN-SPAM Act and UK/EU rules. You can also ask us to delete your data at any time.

Embedded Content from Other Websites

Some articles include YouTube videos. We use YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com), and a video is only loaded from YouTube after you click to play it. Once loaded, YouTube (Google) may collect data about you according to its own privacy policy.

How We Use Information

  • To operate, maintain, secure and improve the Website and its content.
  • To respond to your messages and requests.
  • To send new articles to newsletter subscribers who confirmed their subscription.
  • To understand how visitors use the Website (analytics).
  • To display advertising that keeps the Website free to read.
  • To detect and prevent spam, fraud and security issues, and to comply with the law.

How We Share Information

We do not sell personal information for money. We share information only with:

  • Service providers that help us run the Website, such as our web hosting and email provider.
  • Google (Google Analytics, Google AdSense and YouTube) as described above.
  • Authorities when required by law, or to protect our rights, our users or the public.

Under some U.S. state laws, allowing advertising partners to collect information through cookies for personalized (cross-context behavioral) advertising may be considered a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information, even though no money changes hands. You can opt out as explained below.

Your U.S. State Privacy Rights

If you live in California or in another U.S. state with a comprehensive privacy law (such as Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Oregon and others), you may have the following rights, subject to the limits of your state's law:

  • Right to know / access the personal information we have collected about you.
  • Right to delete personal information we have collected from you.
  • Right to correct inaccurate personal information.
  • Right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information and of targeted advertising.
  • Right to non-discrimination: we will not treat you differently for using your privacy rights.

Categories of personal information we collect (last 12 months): identifiers (such as email address and IP address), internet or other electronic network activity (such as pages viewed and interactions with ads), approximate geolocation derived from your IP address, and inferences used for advertising. Sources: you directly, your device, and our advertising and analytics partners. Purposes: as listed in “How We Use Information”. We disclose these categories to the service providers and partners listed in “How We Share Information”.

How to make a request: email us at [email protected]. We will verify your request using the information you provide (for example, by confirming your email address) and respond within the time required by law (usually 45 days). You may use an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf. If we decline your request, you may appeal by replying to our decision, and if your appeal is denied you may contact your state attorney general.

Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information

You can opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of your personal information and of targeted advertising at any time:

  • Click and choose Decline. Personalized advertising and analytics cookies will be turned off on this browser.
  • Turn on the Global Privacy Control (GPC) in your browser or browser extension. We honor GPC signals automatically as a valid opt-out request for that browser.
  • Use Google Ads Settings to turn off personalized ads from Google.

Do Not Track

Some browsers send a “Do Not Track” (DNT) signal. Because there is no common standard for DNT, the Website does not respond to DNT signals. We do honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) as described above.

Visitors in the UK, EEA and Switzerland (GDPR and UK GDPR)

IMZ Blogs is the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. Our legal bases are your consent (analytics and advertising cookies, newsletter), our legitimate interests (replying to messages, keeping the Website secure and preventing spam) and legal obligations. You have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, to restrict or object to its processing, to data portability, and to withdraw your consent at any time without affecting earlier processing. To use these rights, email us at [email protected].

If you are in the UK, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO). If you are in the EEA, you can complain to your local data protection authority.

International transfers: our service providers, including Google, may process data in the United States and other countries. Where required, these transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (and its UK Extension).

Data Retention and Security

We keep contact messages only as long as needed to handle your request and for a reasonable period afterwards. We keep newsletter data until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. We use secure HTTPS connections and reasonable technical measures to protect information, but no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure.

Children's Privacy

The Website is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, in line with the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). In the UK and EEA, we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under the age of digital consent. If you believe a child has given us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Our articles may link to other websites. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices, and we encourage you to read their privacy policies.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date.
